1410 Zagorje ob Savi
The pumptrack project started in 2014 when the members of Cycling club Zagorje Valley presented their idea to the mayor and other leadership of the Zagorje municipality, and they immediately got a positive response. It took the next two years for the idea to fully mature – they made plans, decided where the track will be, and during summer of 2017, the track got to the state it still is in today.
The track is part of an all-encompassing directive to develop mountainbiking and urban cycling in the municipality. With the help of this and future projects, the club is laying down foundations for the future development of competitive as well as recreational cycling.
The financial value of the project is somewhat less than 50,000 € and is being financed in full by the Municipality of Zagorje ob Savi. The track covers the area of 800 square meters, 500 of which are covered by trails, which makes it one of the largest tracks in Slovenia.
In 2018 and 2019, the members of the Cycling club Zagorje Valley carried out one of the final races of the Pump Slovenia cup.
