With its 2014 m high peak Črni vrh (Black Peak), Čemšeniška planina is the second highest point of the Zasavje-Posavje Hills. The area is a very important hiking, tourist, sport and recreational area that raises the quality of living in the municipality as well as has a beneficial effect on development of tourism, which is one of the strategic goals of the Municipality of Zagorje ob Savi. At 1124 m above sea level, there is a mountain hut “Home of dr. France Golob”, which is a very popular hiking point in the Zasavje part of the Pre-Alpine region. The larger Čemšeniška planina area further includes the Curricular and Extracurricular Activities Centre at Prvine, which also offers outdoor education programs.
